Description

Look what I found in my closet. Please ZOOM for color and details. ...... Had a job in the 1990s where I had to wear a tie. The fun thing was we could be as creative as we wanted. Wore a mix of traditional, bizarre and humorous. Helle (helanker) saw I posted these in a thread and commented...these should be on a wall...so, here they are:) Favorite tie? Bill:) "Ready for the Freezer" thumb_2003630.jpg

WONDERFUL!!! You have given me a BIG grin so my face aches, Bill! You just MUST make some sort of way of displaying them at home.

Firstly Bill - please just confirm with me that you are NOT wearing them anymore!!! I have to know or else I will not sleep peacefully tonight! LOL.... But it is a great shot and Andrea is right - have them box framed. It will make such a great conversation point because I'm sure each one tells a story! My fav...well that depends on which side of the fence you are looking from... I looked again and please don't force me to!!! straight face

My favorite tie, Bill? I would have to go with the circuit diagram on the far right - I pretty much spend 8 hours a day capturing them! Great presentation, Clive

Yes, that is the most fantastic ties I have ever seen. They should hang in a glassmontre. You could also wear them at parties, in that way you dont need to care about all the other clothes you wear, nobody will notice. They will focus on the tie :-D

I like when freedom given to the person to wear what ever color or theme. The attitude/personality of the person can be read through these ties. My fav would be the ocean tie.

Egad, those should grab everyone's attention! What a wonderful assortment of colorful ties you wore back in the good old days of the 60s. Say, weren't you in Vietnam about then? Those definitely wouldn't go with your uniform during that period. They are all great, but I like the computer, ocean/fish and Kansas City Chief ties the most.

WOW! What gorgeous ties! I, for one, think that ties should be a normal part of casual attire...they're such an underrated and underappreciated part of modern society...I mean, businessmen wear them, and all sorts of conservative types wear them, but outside of that context, they're just a lot of fun and they ARE so expressive! I had a Star Trek tie with Captain Kirk, Mr. Spock, and Dr. McCoy prominently placed...it's lost now, but I wore it whenever I had the chance, which was often...it's amazing how many odd ensembles a tie can become a part of, especially when formality is NOT the objective. Ah, but I'm rambling, and I won't even go into how ties make handy curtains...yeah...back in college a friend of mine made curtains out of a bunch of ties...it was quite the treat to see ties hanging in his window, perfectly looped around a curtain rod and somehow they were the perfect length for the window. Whenever there was a breeze, they'd all blow out differently and seem strangely like kelp in a sea current. Great image and I love how this evokes so many memories and feelings. I love the vivid colors and the layout. This is so much fun to look at!

For different reasons, I like the lion and the schematic/circuit board layout ties. The lion appeals to my sense of color and form, and it's got a nice vibe. The circuit board/schematic one is just fun, given how I spend my days! Fantastic collection, and a great shot. I'm glad you decided to do a version for your gallery!

oh Bill how nice to see there are others taking fun in waering some extgravagant ties... my father used to have loads of them mainly the straight ones used for business but also a whole collection of scottish tartan ties and some very special ones including roofur and metal (which he loved to have, but never put on as they were to funky...lol) and my husband as a computer guy loved his cartoon ones, you can see some of them in a new thread at the forum i opend http://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/showthread.php?thread_id=2792193 As to your fine collection Bill, my personal favorite would be the one with the giraffe

great! I, like you, used to wear them & now I look at them and feel sorry for them; but I think they're so incredibly colorful by themselves, something should be done with them. Now I've got to photograph them, after seeing this. A lovely shot, I really love it; they have a whole array of themes & colors & shapes. And you got them as ties should be caught: Fanned out. (They sell them rolled up sometimes, and that's criminal.) I don't have a favorite, thought the cartoon one is great because of the big open mouth. Love this shot, and it's another shot of your day to day stuff that brings light & dance to the site...

I don't wear ties... I wore one just when I got married (in '84) and one more time for another wedding (not mine this time!) in '96, and that's it! Excellent shot, good composition!
