Description
Malbess shook hands with Admiral Kajer Kurugi and helped Snowflake out of the troop carrier. The Admiral shook hands with Snowflake and said as the troop transport started to lift off,"Thank you so much on coming! I know you are on the sick list!"
Snowflake smiled at him,"No problem! My stab wound is already mended, and as long as I wear this chill suit, I'll be fine, even with a damaged hyper-frame!"
"Chill suit? Looks like one of those hot environment suits for fire fighting! How chilled are you? You don't have your usual glass green sheen to your skin!" The Admiral looked concerned.
"My skin is supercooled to 40 below zero and I'm finally comfortable! Most fatalities from damaged hyper-frames are the results of the frame's energy being dumped into the physical structure of who it's attached to! Creates heat! They burn alive!" The transport finished running up it's engines and took off as they headed for the stairs down the mountain.
Admiral Kurugi looked back at the huge megastructure of Shalmiraine and Said, "Quite the view, eh?"
Snowy gasped and said, "It's awe inspiring! I can't believe it's real. Ah.....nice breeze! Admiral...how can you survive up here with the thin atmosphere and cold temperatures?"
He laughed. "I grew up in the highlands of Maris. Cold and thin air are staples for my life. Going to sea-level here can make me sick if i'm not careful."
Malbess laughed, "I'll make you a Friggian, yet! Great spot for a meeting! This mountain-top artifact is all but forgotten in the shadow of the base. You have questions, Admiral, ask them."
He laughed,"I scarcely know where to start. Alright--at the top...So is it definite that the 'Great Ancient Enemy' that the Altha-Krommiums fought four million years ago back?"
Snowy said, "We're not sure. The only sources we have on the 'Ancient Enemy' are so spotty we can't be sure. We KNOW the Boneyard planets are involved, but can't ask any of the Galactic aliens out of fear that our allies might turn on us out of fear."
Admiral Kurugi asked,"Didn't Lady Tyyee the white, leave her daughter, Measure Neesae H'Gael, some kind of library computer worth of data to reference things on?"
Malbess said, "She DID, but the information is SO HUGE and what we have is so vague, it's hard to correlate. We suggested some Cyclops help for Measure, but she's afraid that would raise red flags and it would notify the Naga of what's going on."
Kurugi said, "Kyryn, the alien 'Sister of Waters' that came here from Andromeda had that information and died. Periko, the ancient avatar of the starship Challenger knew this and died. Seems like really dangerous information. When Violet downloaded the flight protocols for the Challanger starship from Periko's severed head after Izkibell, the last Altha-Krommium, went on a killing spree...did Violet get any other information that might be valuable?"
Malbess shrugged. Snowy said, "Some. We know where the starship is hidden and what repairs are needed. We know that the 'Great Enemy has two base forms. The lesser is some kind of shadow that can possess normal matter humans and others. It seems to avoid ANY who have any amount of the blood of Typhon in them."
"We know NOTHING of the greater form of the 'Ancient Enemy'. It may well be some kind of physical form. We also do NOT know if the 'Great Enemy' is actually native to the Boneyards, or not or what purpose the Boneyards serve. We also do not as yet know what the light that emitted the sound of tinkling bells serves either. Toxic said, 'It didn't seem mean'." Snowy shrugged,"For what THAT'S worth!"
Malbess said, "She has uncanny instincts. We should do some investigation on the light to see if the Galactics know anything about it. We could claim curiosity about myths and folklore."
Kurugi nodded, "Thanks for keeping one of us in the loop. This is all off the record. I'll ask of some ambassadors. Need a ride back to the base?"

Very nice work!

Very good job on the narrative! It didn't have the funny interaction of characters or nail biting excitement of many of your postings, but it gave a lot of information in a very interesting way. It started with a pretty gruesome image of what could have happened to Snowflake if she hadn't been cooled down quickly. It seems like they need to get that information sorted through as fast as possible. Very frustrating to have answers somewhere in all that info and not be able to access it for fear of others catching on and responding badly. That whole bit with the lights that didn't seem malevolent to Toxic is very curious. I'm also curious as to what Ushas is like now that the light entity went out of her and Toxic brought her back to life. I love the image except for the stairs. They don't look 3 dimensional to me. Every thing else though is superb! The POV is excellent! I like looking up at the three characters, and the underside of Shalmiraine and the troop carrier. Excellent composition and poses. Terrific episode!

I am really getting into this leg of your story. Did I miss somewhere that Toxic is back??? Last I remember she dissappeared off planet because of her sister(?) and brother. As mentioned above, excellent graphics.
