Mysteriously meaningful as always. A hierarchy foudend and headed by fish, little dendrites of electornic ciruitry here and there... insects and hidden men at the base, more fashionable characters, near the top... then a vertical growth, a fish... and the half silhouettes on the borders... marvellous...

The cosmic pickle as a symbol of...envy? Green is the colour of my world. Mao is blushing. He should grab one of those fig leaves. Fantastic! So much to misinterpret.

love bob's comment. (Mandi!!!) (like, "do you know what you just did???") This is another of your cultural cornucopias, and chock-full on close inspection. I don't know all the faces, but definitely recognize Mao. You have a deep cultural memory of Communism & its effects on the 20th C., and its still lingering effects on the present. You portray it throughout your oeuvre...I see his green fatigue, and green leaves, and green insects, those strange hands (with holes in the gloves that seem like windows into something), and pieces of motherboards (also green) and lots of your other common symbols: Eyes, fish, soldiers, old faces, etc. The rest I can't make out because of their small size, but it's a complex construction with your usual design sense & cultural confections; and all bathed in green. Very rich, suggestive, disturbing (the eye in Mao fits, given his tentacles into every piece of Chinese life), and a compelling work of art. After two hand-drawings, we go back to another aspect of your art, and are reminded how rich your palette has always been...
