Description
A short break from the sandstone images.
My spell checker was at a loss for "kahuna", suppose I can't say much not knowing the spelling myself. :~) This is taken at the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

mmmmm clam chowder! Great shot

looks like a Tridacna clam. Their mantle litterly pops out at you when the light is put on them when snorkling or diving. Nice capture!

Well done. I find it hard sometimes to get a good shot through the glass.

WOW it looks fantastic and very beautiful. So does all the capture. (No, what you saw in my gallery were not hops, but from a tree) Thank you :)

This is a sweet shot! I love those intense colors and that strangely abstract thing that can only exist underwater. The fact that it's alive makes it all the more interesting. This is a stunning, vivid and lively shot! I like it quite a lot!

"The Big Kahuna"? Wikipedia says this: "The use of the term in reference to surfing can be traced back to the 1959 film Gidget, in which "The Big Kahuna", played by Cliff Robertson, was the leader of a group of surfers. The term then became commonplace in Beach Party films of the 1960s such as Beach Blanket Bingo, where the "Big Kahuna" was the best surfer on the beach. Eventually, it was adopted into general surfing culture." As well as a lot about the use of the term in Hawaii. Wonderful image! Such richness and diversity of life. Beautiful colors and details.
