BIO
I'm a fantasy and science fiction writer by trade, with a Masters degree in Biology. I dabble in art as a means of relaxing, and as part of developing my characters. As a result, the vast majority of my images have something to do with my writing. My first novel, Winter's Orphans, won an Eppie award and a Dream Realm Award for Best Fantasy Novel. Since then, I've gone on to publish a bunch more stuff. If you'd like to check out my books, including free stuff, you can do so here: http://www.onecrow.net/Books.htm

Wow, I'm impressed with the layout and character details so far, really superb. I'm also intrigued, what did you do to get such a clear, non-grainy toon effect?? Please share!

Hi, UserAlia. I use a series of photoshop actions developed by NiceNiche and sold on the now-defunct PoserPros site. If the result looks too grainy, I just revert to the original image, break out the Photoshop blur tool (NOT smudge!), duplicate the layer I'm working on, and even out areas like skin that I don't want to look gritty. I try to paint the clothing a bit smoother to start with to take into account the fact that the actions rough things up a bit. I hope this helps!
