I don't mind the blur in the wings and in fact I think it's an asset. It shows movement.

we have the same ducks here but have not seen one lately. can I suggest a Tamron 18-270? very good range from wide to telephoto. they are $629 here locally. excellent shot

Never seen one of these — very pretty! A little wing blur can be just fine and certainly looks normal if the rest is sharp. Same thing with propeller-driven aircraft, some prop blur is almost essential but the rest has to be sharp.
