Description

Those in the UK may well have seen Cranford a TV series set in the fictional village of Cranford a delightful period piece, but many of the scenes were shot in Lacock where it has been said "The hands of time bewitched stand still" Lacock is an enchanting and captivating village, in Wiltshire, almost owned completely by the National Trust. Like this beautiful Inn the streets are full of buildings dating back to the 13th Century, the village church of St Cyriac dates to the Medieval period but there was a church here in Saxon times. Wander down the lane from here and find the pack horse bridge, and then the Medieval bridge over the River Avon. Every Century is represented from the 13th to the 19th and is pure joy for artists, and photographers and in view of the fact modern photography saw the birth of it here in Lacock Manor where Fox Talbot in September 1840 discovered the phenomenon of the latent image.

Quite a stunning photo. The postwork is interesting. I didn't fully appreciate it until I google'd for more images. You've really brought out the colors and features quite dramatically. Thanks for sharing it!

Oh Danny forgive my late comments, finding it difficult to catch up with all my many fave artists. Oh my goodness this is just like a painting, how do you do that? You live in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK dear friend, and I have travelled that way before in years gone by. I just love places like this and am not keen on modern buildings, thank goodness it is owned by the National Trust they will ensure it remains like this forever - simply wonderful LOVE your photography, hugs Jane xx
