Description

Digging around im my files, and found this little guy. Thought you all might enjoy him. He was barely a foot long, just a baby. Doesn't he have pretty eyes? Had to use a flash and it washed him out a bit. Played around with it in PSP, but didn't seem to be able to do anything to improve on it, so left it alone. Thank you so much for stopping and leaving such wonderful comments on the previous post, and helping Mike celebrate his b-day. Thank you for all the faves, as well. Weather is getting a bit warmer, some of the snow is actually starting to melt. You know what that means, right? The yard will turn into a sea of mud, and there will be 8 doggy feet to wash the mud off of everytime they've been in the yard, and come back in.

It's a Garter Snake, a common resident of gardens, fields, and backyards. I used to keep these guys as pets when I was a kid (much to my mom's chagrin). They do have rather large eyes, and are quite attractive snakes. You got a great photo of this one!

I never thought I would say this, but that snake is rather cute. The eyes are amazing. I guess there's something special in all God's creatures. An excellent photo, Rita. And thanks for enabling me to see the positive side of reptiles!

Cool reptilian shot. I can only imagine the mess you'll have to deal with, and I thought one dog was bad!

Rita my dear, you are the intrepid one even if 'it' is just a foot long. Looks huge in the photo, but then it is all in the eyes of the beholder. The beholder says BIG. LOL. Great shot. Be warm. Hugs dear friend!

He does look rather nice with his big eyes and the beautiful markings on his skin. I think I would have run a mile all the same as I have no idea which ones are good and which ones really pack a punch as we don't have any at all here except in the zoos. You will have to teach the dogs to wash their own paws as they come in, LOL. I'm glad it is a little warmer all the same.
