Description
I loaded up my old copy of trueSpace 3 after years without doing any 3-D modeling. Tinkered around for a few minutes and came up with 'Sumo Thing'.Unfortunately, trueSpace 3 didn't cooperate quite like I wanted. After the first boolean union (head to body), it wouldn't correctly execute any other unions. If I'd been able to use a strong set of sculpting tools, such as those in the Z Brush demo I tried, I could have formed each primitive more fully into what I envisioned. I also would have had an easy time designing a good head and face with Z Brush.A good 'meshsmooth' function would be highly desirable as well. A more robust material and mapping editor would help with the textures. And a 'bones' feature would allow me to pose the mesh as I wanted. The central problem, of course, is that I have very few skills remaining after years off. I'm considering purchasing the new trueSpace 6 or another inexpensive package. But I thought I'd load up the old program and see just how rusty I am and just how limiting and buggy old trueSpace 3 still feels.I kind of like the model as presented here, though it's not even close to what I want it to be. Paint Shop Pro 7 was used for 2-D editing. Perhaps my next image for the Beginner Gallery will be created using a modern 3-D software package. Any suggestions or advice?Thank you for viewing and for any and all comments.

Very neat textures --and the Sumos are cool too--especailly the "stance"
