Description
Captured back on 10/27/08, at the 7th Annual Wings Wheels Rotors & Expo, held at the beautiful Joint Forces Training Base (JFTB) in beautiful Los Alamitos, California.
Better viewed full size.
Airplanes, cars, helicopters, motorcycles, parachutists, vendors and a huge crowd weren't the only ones on display at the show. As you can see, we were also visited by the famous and venerable Goodyear blimp, as it skirted low over the tarmac.
This one is typical of the Goodyear lighter-than-air craft that have been around for decades.
Postworked to bring out the good stuff.
Tally-ho, and thankx for stopping by.

Nice shootin' Harry. Ms Goodyear looks like a pegleg. Guess the single wheel is really to provide standoff between the condola and the ground. Would love to catch a ride...it is supposed to be a beautiful ride. Going to send you some via email in a few minutes.

Hey how'd you get a picture of my aunt.....ops that's the Good Year blimp, my mistake. Actually my aunt isn't really heavy and I am sure I would get bonked on the head for this one. Nice shot.

Nice shot...I see these once in a while, but not lately. Love the distinctive sound they make.

This is quiet a neat shot Harry. Right in the middle stealing a show.

Lovely image Harry... I love blimps! Sounds like you had you hands full with everything that was offered on the "menu"!!!

Ooh, memories there; my first father in law was a bigwig with Goodyear...that was a long long long time ago! Excellent shot!

Excellent capture! I'd love to ride in one of those too.

I remember seeing these overhead and at the air shows we attended. I like seeing them at night, all lit up and their message scrolling across the night sky. Very surreal because you can't see the actual shape of it. Great capture Harry!

Now that is something unusual... I've seen a way small Airship, was built in the UK.. Think they built a few.. But not this big.. Impressive craft, shot.. Would love to see this! Thanks... Rob

Great shot - A relative of 'Al Loft' the Lightyear blimp from the Disney Cars movie!
