Description

Hi, how are you? I really hope you are doing well. I had to work A LOT during the last year, leaving me absolutely no time in taking care of my personal activities. I did create lots of pieces, but those were private and commercially comissioned works, jobs, whatever, which I simply cannot upload...sorry:-( And after this longer abscence (oh my! It IS really a long time...) I just wanted to upload something new and share this piece with you, which I made just to show my grateful appreciation for James Cameron by having created this wonderful experience called Avatar. What you see is quite a complicated artwork, which took a few hours to complete. Some of the main problems popped up in the beginning, namely the Na`vi avatar appearance. First I wanted to go the "Neytiri" purebred Na`vi way, but for this to really work, you simply would need a specifically created model, as morphing your regular human figure proves to be too extreme resulting in a variety of problems. I am indeed working on an alternate way achieving the purebred look for another piece. So I decided to do an hybrid piece, but didn´t want to have her look like in the movie, but to get further, like having a third generation hybrid, a special breed, a more extreme, bitchy, in an almost "Mad Max"-kind bad ass way female merc. Ah, creative freedom:-) Somehow it crossed my mind, that this would be a mix of Battle Angel (hopefully coming soon from Cameron) and Avatar The custom created facial features were done with careful and complicated morphing, keeping the Na´vi look as best as possible, intact. Body morphing is more sturdy looking than the fine forms of the regular species, but there is some alien feeling implanted. And also more boob-attraction, but not too much. Most of the texture work was done in Photoshop, as was everything else - as always. For me, a poser rendering has merely become the basic idea, which has to develop to the full-fledged image I imagined during hours of work. I hope you like this take on Avatar. I will try to pop up more regularily here, but can`t promise anything. The workload really is killing off my time. So, take good care, Claudia:-)
