Description

I just can't seem to stay away from the beach lately. The winter storms change it every time I got out there; I never know what I'll see. Today the birds were out---gulls, terns, and these pelicans. I caught them as they flew by--there were dozens and dozens of them today. They all cooperated nicely for a change!! zoom's pretty cool!!

Great shot. We have a great number of pelicans at my beach (the one my house is on...not actually mine though!!) Anywho, they are great to watch land. They put the navy jets to shame with their grace.

:-) Guess you know I like pelicans. They have the most interesting wing construction. Nothing I've seen before. They are amazingly graceful in the air. You did a great job catching their beauty here.

Ultra stellar freeze shot of the airborne pelicans contrasted against the froth and deep blue of the Pacific Ocean, Maz! Incidentally, good news from Massachusetts last night.

WOW! They look like little flying dinosaurs! That's a compliment. Pelicans always remind me of dinosaurs for some reason, and well...there just aren't enough of them in this world. I also love the myths surrounding them, but that's a ramble for another time. Suffice it to say, they're among my favorite birds, and no matter how long I stare at them, I can keep staring. I love the blue tones in this, the contrast to the reds in your previous posts. When you see the thumbnails together, they're wonderfully quilt-like! Great details. Stunning light! In short, I really like this!

Hey, this is really cool! Gives me an idea for a render, but I am surprised it is not freezing there??? When I zoomed it, it looks like the guy on the right has fingers on top.
