Description

I dug out a genuine D&D monster this time. I don't know if D&D beholders are supposed to turn you to stone, but this one does. It looks like Briana has lifted her game a little by coming prepared. Hopefully that blindfold will stop her getting stoned, the way all those previous adventurers did. Apparently she won't repeat the mistake she made with the vampire. Rendered in Poser 7 Pro. Brightness and contrast adjustment is the only postwork. This is part 5 in a series of desktop images for my girlfriend's netbook. Aims of the series are: - to use some of that cool stuff that sits unused in my runtimes; - to keep the process quick and easy by avoiding making or modifying content; and - to have some fun and provide my girlfriend with a new desktop image every month or so. I almost managed to stick to the rules this time, but I wouldn't be me if I didn't take Michael Allen Lane's very old Gazer into EasyPose Underground to give those tentacles some posing power. I also brushed up it's shaders a little, but not much. If I remember, I might wrap up the new cr2 and post it to the free stuff. There must be other people out there who could use it. Credits: The blindfold is a freebie by adamthwaites (Renderosity freestuff) - it was just what I needed for this pic, so thanks adam :-) Briana and her accessories are by Danie, Marforno and LadyRhi (DAZ). The Gazer is by MallenLane (DAZ). The sets is the Guildhall, by Redhouse Studios (DAZ). Briana's pet wyvern is by SilverKey3D (DAZ). The stoned folk are dressed in a variety of old outfits, some of which are no longer available. The woman in the centre is wearing an old P4 Nude Woman outfit by Traveler and the outfit on the far right was an old freebie for the P4 Nude Woman called "Yoroi" or "Orleans" (it was meant to be a Joan of Arc outfit). Both outfits are almost 10 years old now.

ok, geek / nerd alert. The Offical stats on the beholder, as I thought you might like to know. There are 10 eyes, 11 if you count the centre eye. The powers are as follow: Charm person, charm monster, sleep, telekineses, flesh-stone ray, Disintegrate ray, fear, slow, cause serious wound, death ray, and anti-magic ray. Errrr, I hated Beholders (loved them as a DM). Yeah I know, big nerd!! So no, covering her eyes isn't going to help her one bit, now against a Medusa ... but that's another story for another time.
