Description
She tried running through the forest
away from the darkness that was following her
but she kept tripping on roots
falling down
unable to move
as the darkness caught up to her
When the sun did shine again
and the darkness receeded,
she would walk along the path
taking time to notice the little things
the birds as they sang,
the flowers in bloom at her feet,
how the LEAVES fell from the trees
one by one
FALLING
slowly floating through the air,
some tossed by the wind
dancing as they fell,
others shot straight down to the ground
landing where they would be trampled
by the feet of those who didnt care
and didnt watch where they were going
She sensed the darkness following her again
but she tried to deny it,
and kept looking for the blue sky
the sunlight
to keep her from her fear of the blackness
AWAY
Learning to hide from the darkness
she lay upon the earth,
covering herself with LEAVES
hoping no one could see her,
that she was HIDING
Some who walked by her,
knew she was there,
for they could see the pile of LEAVES
rising and falling
with her breath
they could hear her cries
from below,
and were careful
not to walk on her
however,
there were those
who werent paying attention
as they walked along
not realizing she was HIDING
under the LEAVES
waiting for the darkness to pass over
and unknowingly
WALKED all over her
and TRAMPLED her
with heavy combat boots
steal toed
and cleated
LEAVING her
broken and bleeding
beneath the LEAVES
