Description

You are free to flip me around with an old fish or something when you get tired of me painting this guy...LOL Anyway...if you're still reading this there's progress posts on this painting at http://www.christastjean.co.uk. Click on the tag "Art" in the sidebar and it should be the last 7-8 posts. At least for now it is :) The main reason I keep painting this actor is because his face look so different depending on the expression. And it's very rare that I paint smiling people since it's so darn hard to get it to look natural. Smiles tend to look unnatural unless you get it right. And I hope I got this right coz I won't do it again :p The underpainting is shining through a bit on his sweater mainly because grey is such a flat color. Very difficult to make it look good. And I wanted to keep the clothing as neutral as possible not to take too much of the focus off his face. Thank you so much for the comments and ratings on my latest painting as well :D Even though I'm not here much and have a chance to browse through the galleries, your opinion is always welcome and appreciated :D Hope your weekend is a great one :D

I'm a big fan of the Merlin show. The lively expression in this image is decidedly Merlin's, especially when he has a chance to return a witty remark to Prince Arthur.
