Description

The title is a reference to Superman's redoubt far from civilization in the cold North. The photo is of some long frost crystals which formed in the shadows of the boulders on the shoreline of the Inside Passage. They were extraordinarily delicate, instantly disintigrating at my touch. I was glad I could capture what I'd found before a random breeze, or a warm draft or a snowfall destroyed them forever.
