Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I remember those days. The girls, wearing "cheerleader" uniforms and rollar skates, delivered the food. The same red food basket with the same paper liner. Adventure Car Hop, Saugus, Massachusetts, was the name of the one close to me. Cool capture! Dana

Nothing like a healthy meal to keep your spirits up! In fact, it's nothing like a healthy meal.

A & W Root Beer! Oh, I do remember drive-ins; there is, in fact, still one here not far from where I work, and they do come to the car window. But no roller skates or cutesie uniforms, just great cheeseburgers and Coke in paper cups, not bottles.

OK, first of all, I love the nostalgia this photo generates and all through the 1950s...show me this much of a car and I've got it. This is a T-Bird! Since Ford only made them as two seaters in 1955-1957, I am 99% sure you have a 1955 or 1956 here because the 1957 models had a porthole on each side in their tops...supposedly to provide the driver with improved visibility when backing...they didn't much...but they looked cool. Great photo Marilyn:) !!!

Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello, where are you now that we need you? Hey, I remember those days alright, they coincided perfectly with my teenage and young adult activities. This is when teenage girls wore skirts and bobby sox. Terrific POV employed to capture the history of years past, Marilyn! Of course, with what I've learned since, I would probably be wary of all that cholesterol, calories, fat and sugar inherent in that order. But the biggest question of all is, were the carhops at this drive-in on rollerskates?

Oh so many memories! On Sunday's my gramps would take us for a drive and we always ended up at the local A&W for this very thing except for the coke, root beer! I wonder if thats where Tara will take you...I know they still had one when I left there or if there is a retro drive in now...Super capture and wonderful memories Marilyn!
