Description

Typically I don't choose songs as titles for my images, but this time I'll be making an exception. "Silence and I" by the Alan Parsons Project is one of my all-time favourite songs. It's both incredibly sad and beautiful and exhibits a kind of innocence at the same time. As a regular visitor of the Night of the Proms concert tour in Germany I got a chance to see "Silence and I" performed live by PJ Olsson and Alan Parsons with the orchestra "Il Novecento" last December in Munich, in loving memory of Eric Woolfson. I've almost never been that emotionally touched by a musical performance before. I created this scene while listening to a video of the live performance on Youtube. For those interested you can find the video here. "I can hear the cry Of the leaf on a tree As it falls to the ground I can hear the call of an echoing voice And there's no one around We're two of a kind Silence and I We need a chance to talk things over We're two of a kind Silence and I We'll find a way to work it out" I do think the title fits this image very well and I really like how the scene came out. Rendered in Vue 8 Infinite. As usual some color correction and DoF in post. Best seen in full size for maximum detail. Thanks for viewing.

Beautiful image. Great use of widescreen format. Parsons is not bad, but i prefer Camel and the Canterbury scene :)

That's a lovely place. The light works very well. IMO, the wide format is a bit exagerated, but that's a personal taste.
