Description

On the Snjovarnargarour Islands ( located between Iceland and Greenland ) every 11 years, the Dagveroardalur Tribe sends out 12 pale young virgins with roses dipped in dove’s blood to sing into the sunrise. The ceremony, which takes place on a high cliff above the hamlet of St. Ragnheidur’s, commemorates the death of Queen Eydis in A.D. 920. The beautiful pale Queen Eydis was put to death by the hand of Ummur The Bald. The beautiful model photographed here goes by the name of Sigrun Unnur.

This is a beautiful image, I love the blood dripping from the rose! OK, having read in one of your previous posts that the story was not real, is this one real? Great image either way, just curious! :D
