Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Sono sempre gli uomini i cattivi , mai i cani. Il pitbull è uno dei cani più maltrattati dall'uomo . Bella foto e bell'animale ! Men are always bad, never dogs. The pitbull is one of the most abused dogs man. Beautiful photos and beautiful animal!

My daughter has one too his name is smegol (After the character on Lord of the Ring, and he is the same he just loves to play and he smiles too he often comes up when I am on the laptop commenting and licks and licks my hand until I rub his chest and stomach and back lol.. Yes they do get a bad name but its how the owners treat them..

Thighs to die for! He looks a lovely hunk! So glad to see he has all his ears..I detest the fashion for cutting them, which is illegal here thank goodness.

I fully agree, when in the right hands and treated well they are the best family dogs one can wish for. A beautiful shot of a lovely dog.

Good looking dog. I have three, all rescued dogs, and do some rehab and fostering for a local vet clinic. The clinic director is a friend of about 35 yrs and likes pits too. I help out with the ones that were abused or used for fighting so I see the ones that by all rights should be vicious, in 15 yrs doing this only one I've worked with had to be put down. Interesting thing about pits, before the media went on it's campaign of misinformation they were known as the "Nanny Dog". Remember Petey from the Little Rascals TV show? Yep, American Staffordshire.

What a big sweetie! Beautiful smile!

He's awesome. I am leery or pitbulls but only because, as you say, what the owners do to them. This one has a very fearsome look but obviously he is a puppy at heart. ;-)

I love the pit bull, they are banned here but seeing them on Animal Planet, I think they are a lovely dog. I agree the owners are the problem. Also agree with durleybeachbum, hate the ear cropping!!!!

I took art lessons for a while with an artist who had several pit bulls. One of them had been injured when it got out and was hit by a car. She required a lot of care and vet visits, but made it through. After a proper introduction, I would always say 'Hi' to her on the way to class. She was a lovely and sweet dog. I agree 100%. The problems are with the owners. Snoopy's beautiful! I love his coloring. Great shot!

Snoopy does look like a big mean dude but your comment about how they are raised is right on. He is probibly a cream puff - but don't tell him I said so. Powerful capture. Dana

Despite what you have read above, Maz, pitbulls, whether it be the fault of the owners or not, are known to stay sweet and playful for years, and then inexplicably go on a spree of attack and unrelenting maiming and terror. They are most unpredictable. This bit about them turning bad only because of abuse is sheer conjecture. I bet they're even being playful while crushing the bones of your forearm in their viselike jaws. That said, cool capture of your canine friend.

Oh, this is wonderful. He reminds me of Harley, the doofus of a dog who taught me the meaning of "dog spit." I see pitbulls now and think of Harley, who looked...well...goofy. He belonged to the boyfriend of a friend of mine and he was well treated and spoiled rotten. I couldn't visit without having at least a zillion tons of pitbull on my lap, licking my face or flagrantly stealing my Cheetos...or licking my face after flagrantly stealing my Cheetos. Needless to say I was the one who had to walk him the most because he liked the way I threw his favorite, ratty, chewed up tennis ball for him to fetch. It wasn't a tennis ball so much as a remnant of something vaguely tennis ball shaped. I suspect he's long digested it now. This is a wonderful shot, and full of personality. I love the rakish charm of this big-shouldered critter too. Excellent!

Snoopy or no Snoopy - he just looks mean!!! This is a wonderful image though... The eye detail is amazing! :)
