Description
Captured back on 10/20/08, on the beautiful grounds of the beautiful and legendary Santa Anita Race Track, in beautiful Arcadia, California.
Other than the flames design, I like the lovely shade of green on this old timer.
On America's entry into World War II at the end of that model year, it would be four years before production of automobiles for domestic use would begin again.
Zoom for a better look.
The auto show was held on a separate area from the actual race track itself. Actually, this was a poor auto event for a photographer to cover because of the intrusive long shadows cast by the tall palm trees across the vehicles, most of which had their hoods/bonnets up to show off their spit and polish engines. Not an ideal situation, picture-wise. Other than that, many colorful, classic and historic vehicles on display.
Ta-ta, and thankx for the peek.

Great shot of another hot monster. Fascinating color, though I am not sure I would choose this green for it but still looks cool.

Goodness! Rose knows her stuff! lol But I agree, This is a fabulous looking car.. Truly magnificent! Not sure on the 'Lime Green' but maybe a Red or Blue of some shade? But, coolness drips from this ride! Well done my friend! Rob

What a beautiful vehicle! I think we had something similar when I was a kid, of course minus the flames, bright green colour, and ground-hugging sides. Excellent shots!

I like the green too, I'm not so sure I like those flames on all the cars...I think it detracts from the original beauty, especially on the older cars. Great captures tho Harry! My mother had a black coupe of some sort about that age and was learning to drive in it, had me on the front seat and when she went around the corner the door opened and I fell out into the ditch...the car followed me into the ditch but luckily I wasn't hurt!

Love the postwork on these shots, great car too!

an amazing combination the luscious green and the flames... it takes a bit away the agressivity of the flames and melts both into something new...fine shots, Harry
