Description
There is no greater sought after prize than tranquility. Now that is an interesting thing. Do we really have to seek tranquility or is it present at all times? This is definitely a point worth pondering. How do we seek something that already exists? Why does it appear to elude us when it is already here? Could it be that it is our perception of the matter? The answers can be many and are most definitely varied when given to us by others. I would like to think that tranquility exists within our inner being at all times. We merely need to give ourselves permission to recognize it when it appears. Sometimes, just sometimes, we are so busy focusing on the outer appearances in our lives that we temporarily ignore our inner appearances. You and I are filled with peace and tranquility at all times. This is a part of our natural state of being. The appearance of an absence of peace and tranquility is something that we learned as we grew up. When we were children, we were always at peace and then little by little we learned that people focused on other things outside of themselves. So we adopted that pattern too. It takes a while, but we can unlearn that pattern and when we do, we will realize that peace and tranquility is our true nature. Once we allow that thought to take hold again, we will realize that the things that were so serious to us, have taken their proper place in reality. They are still important, but not as important as our inner peace and tranquility. To re-acquire this state of being, we must first practice being at peace and having tranquility. Then slowly our practice will become a habit and then it will become a way of being. We can always put chaos in perspective. Chaos is composed of facts and facts are continuously changing. But the real truth of our inner beingness is one of peace and tranquility. That truth is a universal truth and it never changes. How we perceive those facts depends upon our mood for the day. So why not choose to be happy and then those facts will not seem quite so serious. They will be important, but they won't be as serious. And when they are less serious, they will be easier to handle.
