Description

the lighting is as nature as I can get it. I useing a nikon D90 so I could change my lighting if I wish. I know how to do that but I did not do it here for the image was comeing out as I see it. It the type of lighting they useing out there. I did lighten it up a little in Photoshop type program. This is between Sulphur and Lake Charles. It a diff oil refiner that what you saw yesterday. I love what I see out there at night. it like a surreal looking world to me. I waithing for it to get foggy so I can take shots then too.

I think you did well with this image as well as your other refinery image. They tell a story and show the details well. Good job.

WOW! Superb photograph of industry at night, Jocko. Is this the refinery near Isle of Capri Casino off I-10?

A fine night time capture, and this brings back memories, when I used to work for Mobil Oil at the Head office, not the Refinery ! Cheers BB

I lived in a little town just a spit from Texas City - home to some of the most amazing refineries. But we were surrounded by prairie and cattle ranches with long dirt tracks that stretched across the miles. The cattle guards ran under the wide open gates that were left open during the day but late at night, the ranchers would drive out and lock the gates to keep us kids from driving our cars through the herds. And out in this great expanse of prairie grass and cattle, far on the horizon in the dark of night, the lights of the refineries would twinkle like diamonds. The Texas sky was sprinkled with stars, the horizon with industry lights and more times than I can count, we ended up getting ourselves locked in when the rancher came because we were busy spooning to the magic of the refinery lights. That's what it was for kids growing up on the Gulf Coast. Funny how the sight of a refinery or an oil pump can bring back the feeling of young love even to this day. :-)
