Description
Due to recent wooden calamities, unwanted accidents (and few Member complaints - TBIP), Uncle Herby decided to keep Woody out of trouble!
"Collecting Lensflares (tm,C,R,IHA)" seemed harmless enough as a hobby, alas Woody......
His collection had started with a wonderful gift from Uncle Herby: A thick Collector's Catalogue (of types, history, occurrences and pricing ranges) including a valuable petrified ancient lensflare! Woody was deeply impressed and overwhelmed by such generosity!
Meanwhile, Woody has collected over 1,500 during the past week and a total of over 1,300,000 in three months, only here at Renderosity! Obviously, he quickly has crossed the fine borderline between collecting and addiction. But this truly harmless hobby should keep him out of trouble for quite some time!
Whereas in this scene, Woody tries to catch a lensflare of utmost rareness: The "60 degrees semi-golden 42-ray triple-duo-purple-ring" type (as Uncle Herby had helpfully explained to him).
Enjoy,
Hubert
PS1:
No insult towards users of lensflares intended, if applied decently and in *apt* context. ;)
PS2:
TBIP = To Be Ignored Politely :)
Don't worry, there were NO such complaints from members so far, I was only kidding here!
Image details:
- Composed and rendered in Bryce4
- Woody from Poser4
- Various Lensflares made with PhotoImpact 10
- The big lensflare is inside the scene, mapped on a 2D face.
- Table with texture from Tony Lynch. (old Freestuff)
- Cabinet mesh from arianod. (old Freestuff)
- Those plastic flowers are simply Bryce primitives. The vase from RayDreamStudio 4, iirc.

This is really cute. I like the way you stacked all the stuff so woody can reach it.

The entire image is such a wonderful exploration of "play". Add to this the excellent concept of a "Collecting Lens flares" just gives me so much to wonder on. Thanks for posting!

Funny and great vision. As I commented on a Dave [Frogdot]render recently, narrative in the comment goes a long way to adding context to an image, oftem making it way more funny/better and understandable from the artists point of view.. ...

I've always like your art and your woody concept. This type of tongue in cheek art work gentle as it may be, inspires me not to take art or life seriously; to sit back a bit and laugh at oneself. Thanks for the lift in spirit. It was sorely needed. ;-)
