Normally life in the Insterstellar Scout Service consists of varying degrees of hardship, boredom, and terror... sometimes all at once. Understandably Scouts take their pleasures where they find them, but every so often there's a jewel. The small water world of Equus (B55A858-B 0807/LANTH) is a stop along the X-Boat route and it's floating city of a starport is an important hub for information, trade, and one of a handful of locations within several parsecs that boasts a well-equipped shipyard and repair facilities. To the scout base attached to the starport, however, Equus is also heaven. Crowded into small courier/survey ships for months at a time, the Scouts making landfall at Equus take full advantage of it. Small, intimate resorts dot the tiny outcroppings in the planet's shallow seas and the Scouts stopping at Equus know their locations by heart. The clear, open sky, the gentle waves, and the warm sea breezes are just what the doctor ordered for a crew with a little well-earned downtime.
