Webster Fields - Princess Ces'alena
Written by Mercedes Keyes
===================
'Now what does he want?' Lena's mind instantly flashed the thought, 'Every time I turn around, there he is, staring, lurking behind me. I know one thing, he will get this rolling pin this time if he tries once more what he did this morning!' "Ah, there you are wench - if I didn't know better, I'd swear you were hiding from me." Manny announced upon his entry into the kitchen. "Why yes, I can see how you would think such a thing, why, who would have ever thought to find me here, in the kitchen, of all places, shame on me, hiding." She murmured smartly. He grinned, ignoring her sarcasm, "While my father's needs are surely better met with you here, I assure you - my needs - are better seen to - elsewhere. How much longer will you be? Perhaps you are due a break now? What do you think?" "I think, I shall continue on with your father's needs, and you - well - might I suggest you see to your needs - elsewhere - as I - have no interest in them - not in the least - good-day sir." And turned back to kneading her dough. Manny threw his head back laughing in delight, "Aye, deny it if you will - it is pure desire I see shining in your eyes when I enter the room; admit it - and I will relieve you of this duty, and give you something more fitting, to knead." He flirted like the randy wretch that he was, coming up behind her. "I assure you sir, the kneading that I would desire to inflict upon you, is not by any means, what you imagine you'll be needing. I fear you have mis-read the shining in my eyes, perhaps you should read it once more, this time - more carefully." She turned her golden fiery gaze to him, making sure there was no way for him to confuse her thoughts. Manny only grinned and backed away, "Pity you fight what it is you truly desire." "Yes pity indeed, were I sure of a clean escape, I would give into this desire." Manny only laughed, shaking his head he left the room, calling back for her to hear, "I'll be back wench, Princess Ces'alena - you are mine now - it is only a matter of time, before I make it so." ======================== End of word play... ======================== I illustrated this scene from book one of my Webster Fields novel. While nothing of the what you read is in the book, it is a true interpretation of their relationship as it grew.
