Description
Even though our Ice Storm hit us three days ago, our back deck and even much of the ground is still covered with slushy ice, making it difficult for birds & squirrels to find food. So because I keep an ample supply on my back deck, it's been quite a popular place these days.
This morning while patiently waiting behind our glass French Doors with camera in hand, our resident cardinal dropped by for some sunflower seeds. They are a skittish bird, and their visits are extremely quick. Usually by the time I get my camera they're gone. But this time because I happen to be already in place, I got him!
Moments after I took this he was gone again. My goal now is to snap him and his mate together. That one may take a while though. . . .
Thanks for stopping by!

Unfortunately we don't have these in our area... luckily I can see it here. Great shot. The red stands out so well against the snow. It must be quite a sight back there.

Well done Marshall this is a fabulous capture of such a handsome but shy bird, I love it and well done again for making sure all the little ones get their nourishment to keep them warm, hugs Jane xx
