Description
At the base of the cliffs, the freed pebbles combine with sand. If you look closely, in full-view, you see that the grains of sand are just miniatures of the larger stones. The sand is the basic element of the sandstone, where the surface of each grain is discolored by minerals, mostly iron, producing the reddish-brown shades of the sandstone. Once free, the grains and pebbles are cleaned by the weather and the flow of water, making this small re-creation of the original beach, from eons ago.
I am struck by the lovely colors of the quartz; shades of white, rose, blue, cobalt and amethyst.
And one shard of glass, center left, our contribution to the mix. Of course on a geological scale of time, the glass, which we made from melted quartz, will be worn down to become indistinguishable from the other sand. Just like all our works.

You should collect and tumble polish these... another fun hobby! Harborfreight.com has dirt cheap tumblers and supplies. You would be amazed what things you find! - Nice artistic capture too!
