Description

Forest full of moss covered trees near Sedro Woolley, Washington. So much moss growing here that if you stand in one place too long figuring out your camera settings it will begin to grow on you:-))) Bill:) Please ZOOM for full effect. "Meant for England" thumb_2013561.jpg

I have no idea who said it, but somebody originally thought that Heaven was a place of milk and honey...obviously this was before the days of diabetics who were also lactose intolerant. It's plainly obvious that Heaven is a place of moss, mold, and woodlice...oh wait, that's probably just me...but anyway...This is an amazing shot and it reminds me of the so-called Savage Garden that has taken its place in human philosophies today. I think it's the primordial shapes of everything here, the rich green coloration, and the fact that yes...the moss might just be predatory enough to seek out new growth surfaces, which would include humans fiddling with camera settings too long. Sounds like paradise to me! There is a sense that everything there is spongy! I like that as well. This is amazing work.

Beautiful! Brings back memories of my childhood as my sis and I played in the woods and sat on mossy logs and pulled sword ferns and looked for trilliums/wood lilies.

This is a different moss than I know and one that is more suited for the weather here. I am a big fan of spanish moss though and I think you are winning me over with this new sort. Lovely green.

Obviously in that forests there are no rolling stones.. so everything gathers moss.. Nice capture Bill, so glad you got out without becoming mossy lol.. Excellent capture my friend!!

I love the composition you got with this one. The diagonal branch creates a nice strong look, and divides the image between dark and light as well. Aside from all that ... it's so pretty! :D

I'm with Chip on this..Heavenly, although in paradise there would also have to be natural lawns grazed by ponies, and a beach, and flower gardens and........

Beautiful shot of this very impressive rain forest! I wish I had a sensurround cam to capture the overwhelming greeniness of it, and the drops of water everywhere! Note to self: go back there soon!

That's a northern climate rain forest all right! I wonder how Indians and the frontiersmen managed to get through these beautiful, but difficult regions.

How beautiful the trees look with their lovely mossy jackets to keep them warm for the winter. I'm chuckling over how fast it grows too.

Stellar effects in this shot, Bill. The best word I can think of in viewing this image is, "hoary.". A green hoary, but hoary, nonetheless. Gotta continually move around, or become a victim of this stuff.
