Description
This feather was floating on my pool one afternoon last week. I just loved the droplets from the previous night's rain still stuck on it. I darkened the water for the feather to pop a bit more!
Just 9 more sleeps before my holiday... and believe me, I need it!

Nine more sleeps! I love that phrase, it reminds me of the Native American naming of seasons...they go by the moon. This is a really cool picture. Your post work is so subtle that I wouldn't have even noticed it as post work because its so natural to the mood you want to convey and that feather is perfect. I really noticed the droplet first. The colors are wonderful...I love the fact that they're not "pure" like pure blue, pure green, pure white or brown...they're all kind of mixed and muddled in a way...not murky or indistinct, just shaded with a tiny bit of ambiguity that keeps you looking. The composition is nice too. And it's funny, the feather looks like a rather strange alien critter, maybe something little Martian kids would go out at night and catch and keep in little baskets by their beds while their co-mothers complain about the sheer number of "featherlings" chirping away in the night. Great work!
