Description

Painted Turtles having a meeting, on an old log, and you can see a late arrival, getting ready to climb up and join the rest. For size comparison, the Great White Egret is about 39 inches (99cm) tall. Taken at the Wakodahatchee Wetlands, February 2nd. This is only about 50 yards (46 meters) from the alligator posted 2 nights ago. For those that asked, the alligator snout, in that alligator posting, looks to be about 12 feet (3.6 meters) long and only about half the weight. Maybe a girl friend! Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous comments and favs. Dana

I will always possess a soft spot for turtles! This is a gorgeous capture of these rather whimsical beauties. Well...turtles always look whimsical to me, I think its their expressions and the fact that they're distinctly reptilian but they also possess beak-like mouths. That and they are cute! I love the light in this shot and the POV, as if you're actually in the water looking across at them. This is great.

Must be a pretty important meeting if the egret is there too---just hope that gator doesn't show up again!! great shot!!

Great shot! So, I am presuming that gator is behind you 50 yards away? I think I'd rather try petting a bison myself.

Great capture..I love the way these little fellows don not care about who they have to climb over or sit on top of to get the spot they want...

Thanks for the great shot, we have to go to the zoo to see these lovely creatures but I must admit that I am glad this is also the case with alligators.

That's teenage mutant ninja turtles having a meeting, Dana, along with a magnificent long-necked egret. All that's missing in this fine scene is a Burmese python.

"So what do you want to do today?" "I don't know, what do you want to do Marty?" "Hey, who invited the egret?" Just a wonderful catch, mad me laugh. Outstanding work.
