Description

A fascinating house founded by Cistercian monks over 800 years ago it became one of the richest and most learned monasteries in the country. After the dissolution in 1539 the Abbey lay empty for 100 years, until in 1649 it was transformed into the magnificent house you see today.

What a grand kingdom you live in where you can see all this in a day's drive or two. Always amazing that a place can stand empty for a 100 or so years and be rebuilt. I work in a 50 year old building that needs constant daily repair, basically from the day it was built.

Ya Iv'e been thinking about putting a moat around my houe ! Just kidding - In Minnesota USA we don,t see anything like that - My house is a we bit smaller :) - What can I say the subject is overwhelming what a treat to be able to shoot something like that - good subject matter is a bit harder to come by here.
