Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

You should find out who owns it and make them an offer. Who knows maybe they would be happy to have it taken off their hands. You never know. I think it's really cool.

A handy man special! Cut away some of the excess foliage and it may be a jewel. Two chimneys. Great find, wonderful capture and super share. Dana

Places like this really DO need to be occupied! Little houses are perfect for me, especially if they're near water, but not too near that they'd risk flooding. I love the feel of this image and those twin chimneys. Oh the stories this house could tell: spooky ones too, given it's current condition. I always see abandoned houses and imagine their potential as locations for climactic action in films like The Blair Witch Project, which is my favorite supernatural/paranoia movie of late years. People love to blast that movie because it's fake, but they totally forget that its also creepy as hell, despite stupid protagonists...or maybe because of them. Anyway, when I see abandoned houses, I think of the house Rustin Parr committed atrocities in, and I always expect to see hundreds of mysterious and disturbingly small hand-prints on the interior walls. This house doesn't have that vibe at all, but in its current condition, a location scout for the next Blair Witch ripoff will love it as much as I do. I agree though, it'll be better to fix it up, live in it, and take pictures out in the garden.
