Description

I was on my porch photographing hummingbirds, when I saw this chipmunk foraging in the cypress mulch on my front walk. When he jumped up on the timber, he was unaware that he was being observed by a mother wren, who had a nest full of chicks on top of a cabinet on the porch. I knew a conflict was likely, so I started snapping as quick as I could. There was less than a second between chipmunk and wren on the timber, the whole attack by the bird happened in that interval! What a great sequence of pictures! I LOVE chipmunks and we often have a few stop by the koi pond to drink from the waterfall. And wrens are such precious little birds!
