Description

An edgy version of my last post (The Governess) loosely inspired by Henry James's ghost story The Turn of the Screw. Thanks for the private constructive comments. It helps. All done in Bryce with some Daz imported characters. The final vignette framing was created in Filter Forge. Free stuff: picnic basket and food by Treasure Chest, bread by Kimberly.3d (Renderosity), Crinoline 1 and 2 dresses by Chohole and Jan 19 (ShareCG), and the Pollyanna dress for Maddy was found at Faerie Dreams. Thanks for looking and for any comments you care to leave. Sorry to post a similar image again, but I couldn't let this one go until I tried a different version.

i thought the first version was fine.Adding the other woman adds an air of mystery to it.Perhaps the two women are both governesses of nearby estates and in love. The picnic basket was empty in the first render? Looks more realistic with the food added.

Now this is an excellent development! Better lighting, everything better placed, and the addition of the second Governess makes it very haunting, intriguing and compositionally balanced.

This very wonderful too. I like the addition and the atmosphere. Henry James is one of my very favorites, what a clever idea. Beautifully done.

The changes that you made were all for the better. I like the darker, misty, haunting feel to this one even better than the first excellent version. I've been meaning to read this, but never seem to get to it. Eventually...

It's not a literal interpretation . . . Someday when I'm better at Bryce I'll do one, because it's one of my favorite ghost stories. There's a wonderful atmospheric movie version of the novel starring Deborah Kerr (1961) called "The Innocents".

Oh I love the book "The turn of the screw" and the movie which is called in german "Das Geisterschloß" with Deborah Kerr. I love your adoption of the story and this image is excellent with these deep and rich colors. You really hit the screw... ahm nail. ;o) ~Sassy~

I can't believe I haven't read that .. it's on my list now for sure. I really liked the first version, the misty, softer quality gave it a slightly eerie feel. But this! Holy cow, I really like this and i'm not sure if it's because of the addition of the second woman, who I see as either the ghost .. or a woman seeing the child and governess as who are ghosts, maybe. Dunno. I like both. Each has it's very own charm

Exceptional! I love the way the image has developed - the lighting and the additional of the second governess gives it a wonderful creepiness... The Turn of the Screw has always been one of my favourite ghost stories too...
