Description

I would like to dedicate the left-hand side of this image to Chip, but not the right-hand side. LOL! He'll know why. :D Fruit from a stall at Pike Place Market in Seattle. Approximately 2,976 filters were used in combination to create this image. (Something like that. It might have been closer to nine or ten, but hey ... who's counting?)

What a wonderful image and dedication! WOW! The colors are so vivid (and those yellow things that must not be named, lest their unspeakable evil infest the world) are just as gorgeous as the rest of the picture! I love the play of textures: I've always liked pineapples (they're FAR from evil) because of their skin: I always thought of dinosaur skin when I was a kid looking at them, and well...something about Carmen Miranda will always pop into my head as well...you gotta love a woman who can wear pineapples on her head. (As a kid, I used to like burying pineapple chunks in my rice and then eating my way down to them. Something about rice and pineapples is just so completely right.) Those evil things near the pineapples have always had a wonderful shape, a bit like parenthetical brackets, and I have to admit, I take a certain gloating pleasure in seeing them rot, but I'm glad that you caught these at their ripe prime. I love the post work too! The whole thing just pops and the colors are extravagant. I agree with Helle, full screen is a moral imperative for an image like this!

Well Chip beat me to the reference but this does look like a headdress Carmen might have worn. I'm not that old but I have seen some of the movies. There is one movie whose name I don't remember which has a whole production number where Carmen, in her headdress, dances between two lines of showgirls. Each one holds a gigantic yellow evil in front of them so, Chip, consider yourself warned. I was going to make a comment about Chip's amazing stream of conscience narratives but, after looking at what I just wrote, who am I to talk?

Nice pic. Can't have been meant for me: I buy my pineapples sliced in cans and bananas green - I have one every day for breakfast; if you buy them unripe they'll last longer. Who's "Chip"?

Obviously chip does not 'do' the yellow things! Well done on using a record number of filters! lol Only kidding.. Great job.. Rob

What a differece an artistic crop, some label ridding work and a few filters make! This is superb. That was a great day downtown and at the market. Thanks so much for sharing Seattle with me on a couple of handfuls of photo shoots. A wonderful experience:)))
