You really have elements of abstraction from the first half of the 20th C, especially the great spanish masters who did abstracts along with realism in the same pieces. You have those cubist-like shapes, defined by a line on one or two sides & shaded at the line to give the appearance of 3 dimensions. Your shapes are also very spanish--picasso, gris, miró and dali come to mind. And you have it all spiraling outwards; and there is a glorious messiness to it--messy in the best sense of the word, in the manner of fine abstract art. Very fitting for Carnival/Carnaval. You probably know that "carnaval" is from the Latin root meaning "tearing/consuming flesh" (like carnívoro): It was a festival of feasting and eating well. You captured the feeling of feasting & drinking; and you did it with the classic ease & balance of bright abstract art. Another fine fractal from you. I hope your february was a good one, Javier!
