Description
Another nearly abstract play of light and shadows on the snow. When not shoveling the stuff there's some really nice qualities to the snow.

Beautiful. I just shoveled my sidewalk (for the third time today) It's good to come into this to photo and remember that I can appreciate snow's beauty. Usually I fight it. Lovely colors, dimensions, and shadows.

Snow is fantastic when you don't have to do anything more than admire it, and when it's not gray and grotty, or worse yet, full of dog footprints and yellow spots. I have to admit to a particular fascination with snow myself, and what I especially like about this photo is the fact that it could easily be a cloudscape as well. I like that sort of ambiguity. You know what you're looking at, but what the eye sees and what actually exists may be two different things--but it doesn't really matter when effect is the main target. This is gorgeous work.
