Description

Just a test of using DS dynamic clothing, freezing and then importing into Carrara for hair and lighting. Not 100% successful as I had to adjust the figure somewhat to avoid some very obvious poke-throughs, but the final image is OK. I've seen lots of people say they find it difficult using Carrara after using DS - I can assure you, it is just as difficult, if not more so, in the opposite direction! Not being familiar with DS, I really struggle to get it to do what I want most of the time, and find it slow and unresponsive. Still, it has some cool tools - but the sooner we get them direct in Carrara, the happier I will be! Dynamic cloth and puppeteer are scheduled for the C8 release (soon!). Thanks for looking - and for your comments! Phil

I actually found it harder to go back to DAZ, even though that's where I actually started. I got so used to the modeling room that I forgot that DAZ uses D-forms, not to mention the whole shader system that I've totally been spoiled on and the better control I have over lights. I still use DAZ for some things, but overall I've pretty much made the switch. But omg dynamic cloth in C8? giddy, jumps up and down Wait... will we be able to make our -own- dynamic clothes? I know, I'm bad, I should read the forums more often. At any rate, 'pretty' image! ;P

Nice work. I like some of what DAZ studio can do but I am not that use to it. I hope the new features in C8 will help with animation and clothe.

Very nice work ... I've DS loaded but find insufficient time to explore its abilities. Looks like you have it under control. Beautiful render in Carrara.

Beautiful work - very sexy! I agree: Get some of the nicer features from DS into Carrara and it will be a powerhouse. One feature I would like to see: DS-style through-the-light viewing - it is a VERY precise way to aim lights!
