Description

I have captured this Plover in the Lion Park of all places! He was just casually taking a stroll!!! If I were him, I would have been a little bit more cautious as there were an awful lot of feathers everywhere... Hmmm... I have to apologize for being behind in commenting! I am rushing around fighting fires so I can go on holiday without worries. (or as little as possible) It is a mad rush to get everything in place. I will try to catch up tomorrow! Thank you for visiting and for your kind comments and favs on my Bridge & Lighthouse upload! Stay well! Hugs, Carin xx

This is gorgeous, Carin. He does look regal and unconcerned, maybe he knows that all of the feathers scattered around weren't Plover feathers? Or were they? That's the mystery! Maybe HE is responsible for those other feathers lying around, you can't trust Plovers you know. Or can you? At any rate, this is a wonderful photograph of a regal and handsome bird. I love his fluffed brow-feathers and his very red legs; it's like he's wearing bright red tights! This is a great photo! As for your holiday, I hope it's a superb one, full of fun and wonderful photo opportunities, and LOTS of relaxation.

So that's where you've been...fighting fires. I hope they're not of the virtually uncontrollable California brushfire variety. I was wondering why your comments, ever so dependable, had been missing from my gallery. An excellent POV employed to snap this magnificent little feathered creature, Carin! Nice and crisp shot of the birdie itself, with its striking patterns and textures.

Those legs are incredible... Such a strange looking bird with parts that look like they are taken from many different birds. Stellar!

I don't know, he looks pretty dangerous to me. If I were a lion I'd give him a wide berth. Excellent capture of a very handsome bird. I hope your holiday is a lot of fun.

I suppose he was whistling some little ditty too? And saying something cocky like, "Come out and play lions...what are you chicken?" Well taken Carin. I love seeing the birds of SA:)
