This is a wonderful photograph! I love the mood, the brittle textures. If you're bored you could do a few watercolors! :D Just an idea ... but you know how much I love your painting! (Yes yes, I know ... I'm hoping for some time for that as well!) :)

Great capture - snow makes all sorts of things look so different but you can only have so much ;) I agree with auntietk some watercolours would be excellent :)

When I first saw it, I thought of a bat's wing. Then, when I zoomed it, I just thought, "Wow!" Excellent detail and light! The veins, creases and different shades of color on the leaf are gorgeous! Your capture of the snow is wonderful and the part that is over the leaf is beautiful. I love the point of the leaf that curls at the bottom. This one must be zoomed to fully appreciate! Watercolors are nice :)

This is a great picture! I like the way the leaf looks almost like a shawl or a sweater or something over the bud. The colors are really nice too! This looks so warm and soft. Great work.

-7C. NOW we're talkin' Chicago weather, and today was a "warm" day. In honesty we only reached about -5, but what's 2 degrees eh? I love this picture and the title. It reminds me of something my favorite author wrote in one of his novels: "an alien gazing at an alien gaze," I loved that line and I love titles and references to things like layers layering layers or covers covering covered covers and stuff like that. Beautiful wordplay! And the image is, indeed layers layering layers...you've got gorgeous snow layered on a gorgeous leaf, layered on a rosebud that might be gorgeous, only it's under layers so we'll never know. Ah...how rich and evocative! I love the brown tones, they're almost golden in a sense, very warm, very attractive. I love this image! And I hope that it warms up and that you create some great 2D work!
