Description

Captured 2/9/10, very early in the AM, about a mile from my semidomesticated domicile. A full size view would be to your distinct advantage. Rather ominous looking, but no rain in those clouds. Auf Wiedersehen, and thankx for coming by.

Interesting looking tree Harry...but so cool against that sky. Nice capture. Tonight here the sky is all white-ish gray cloudless and flat. Kinda odd looking for here...usually there is always something of a cloud form out there.

Sprouting from the lopped-off ends, looks like spring is in the making. And yes, it is a rather ominous sky! Nice shot of more than it appears at first glance!

I love these kinds of shot! As I'm driving to work, I keep thinking, "That's a nice one, I should walk here sometime." Then it's dark when I get home. Before I know it, they won't be naked anymore. I love your capture, here! This tree reaches emphatically into the heavens. Beautiful!

I like the hint of Spring in the tree against that wintry sky. Nice shot Harry :)

I've returned after another 2 weeks, and I wanted to come back here again, even though I've not caught up with everyone else...there were a whole number of your images I wanted to comment on, so today I'll try to get to another 3 or 4. This was stunning to me the minute I saw it, it's a simple capture but the complex texture of the branches against the sky is beautiful. (You definitely don't see trees like this in Chicago.) The light is perfect for this AM shot, a dark morning, almost foreboding (storm-looking, in fact). And full-size you can really see the flowers/buds, but also the little spindly branches that bloom out from them. It's a spindly & spiny thing, captured with real silhouette yet with wonderful detail; and the light behind is perfect. A beautiful shot. I wish I saw things like this in our dawn. (I also wish I didn't need 400 pairs of gloves for our dawn! Do you know what it's like shooting with heavy gloves on? Or, worse, with no gloves on---which is inevitably what you have to do? Your hands leave town...) The light, opening up in the middle of the sky, is just beautifully captured behind the tree.
