Description

These are really common around here. I probably have another shot of one in my gallery. But this has to be one of my faves I have taken of one so far. Love the background colors and lighting. No crop, just re-sized. This guy is big! About 3 inches long. And they always look happy! Thanks for looking. -Bruce

I figure if you get this close and personal to a grasshopper then you've done something amazing! They're such skittish creatures and even if you were at a greater distance than this image implies, you still did an amazing job. What patience you have! This is a stunning shot, truly gorgeous! I love the texture of grasshopper chitin in general and this is wonderful, nicely pitted with fantastic color patterns. This is a gorgeous creature and you do justice to the species. Amazing work, but then you always do amazing work. This is making a trip into my Favorites' File.

WOW! That's one heck of a macro shot! You really got in his face! I love this photo - such great detail. I just loved grasshoppers as a kid, much to my mom's chagrin. Hardly a summer passed without grasshoppers in my room :-D Beautiful photo!
