Description

My emotions were in a turmoil. I was excited, eager to go out to the alien ship. The familiar thrill of discovery rushed through my veins. But at the same time I was strangely reluctant to leave the wolf station. To leave Nick. After changing into something more appropirate for space exploration, I paused at the door to the stateroom. Mimi was curled up next to Nick. Somehow he managed to look powerful, male and dangerous while drugged into unconsciousness. I did not want to leave him, but somehow I knew that the key to his survival as well as the entire mystery that had started on the Exeter lay out there in the alien ship with its exhausted, fragile inhabitant. The next few hours were critical not only to us but perhaps to the entire Imperium. So I would go and trust in my new abilities and old skills to do the job.
