Just a few weeks ago I would not have got a picture like this. Stan and Rufus happily sharing a chair. Stan is the tabby and Rufus is the black and white cat. Ever since Rufus grew out of kitten-hood, he and Stan have hated each other. This has led to many fights culminating in Stan never leaving the kitchen. Since Stan went blind, however, he has adapted well and gained confidence, finding his way about the house very well considering. Also, Rufus' attitude toward him has changed dramatically. They seem quite happy to share my bed and this chair. Rufus often assists Stan with his cleaning and spends a fair amount of time just keeping an eye on him. What a change - my home is now peaceful and serene once more and I enjoy being in the company of the pair of them together. There are still the odd little disagreements but, compared to the fights that used to occur, these are very minor and, as it is usually Stan who strikes out, possibly because he didn't see Rufus approaching, Rufus usually backs off until Stan calms down. In fact, Rufus has been a little treasure these last few weeks as I hadn't been looking forward to keeping the peace between them.
