------------- Crimson Ludus - Pretty Pair

Vyn rolled over and ran his fingers along Vera's shoulder, then leaned over and kissed it gently. She made that little sound that said she wasn't asleep.

"Yeah, I know. I can hear them."

Vyn smirked, "Interesting, I thought I was the one with the hearing acuity. You're supposed to be the one with the good eyes."

"You forget, Mystaino shapeshifting let's us access all the normal physical attributes of the form we're in."

"Assuming you've studied that form long enough."

"Vyn, dear, I've been in the form of a Zeigus for years now. If there's anything I should study about your form that I haven't, I can't think of it."

Vyn snickered and rolled out of bed. Humming a little magic to dress quickly and a little more to gather all their things and he was ready to leave. As usual, Vera was ready about the same time. The tromping noise got louder coming up the stairs. Vyn stuck his head out quickly and saw the shadows moving at both ends of the hall. He withdrew and quickly locked the door. Vera hefted her daggers and smirked.

"No way out?"

Vyn charged to the Franco doors, threw them open and looked down from the balcony. City guards were waiting in the street below.

"No way out, or down."

Vyn got that grin again. Vera knew what he was thinking and shook her head.

"No. Not again. You know I don't like to,... not in public."

"Do it inside,... nobody will know it's you."

Vera slipped to the balcony, looked down, listened for the guards starting to approach their hotel room door, and pulled back inside.

"Well, alright. But if that guitar gets tangled up in my wings again, I'm dropping it from a thousand feet onto the south road."

Vyn smiled and strapped his gear a little tighter to his back.

"Love ya, babe."

"Yeah, sure. Just keep the chicken leg jokes to yourself, will ya."

Maybe I wasn't clear about who was speaking,... always blows it when you have to explain the joke. I avoided her transforming to her true form and asking for a kiss,... and his repsonse being, "no beak".
