Description
This is Valentines collaboration with another member here, I hope you all enjoy it, my photo of the flower was taken at the Biltmore Estate Gardens in North Carolina and the poem is by Michael . Michael thanks once again for wanting to add one of my photos to your beautiful poems. It is an honor to have my photo along side your poem, and an honor to have you as a friend. Big hugsss. Michael's poem
My daughters high school orchestra is performing a Valentines concert benefit at the new Clayton Art Center that has opened in our town, they are the first ones to perform there so it is a big honor for them, so I will be back later today to catch up with you all. Have a wonderful day. And thanks to you all for your kind comments and your continued support. Little update: I went out to see the bald eagle being released unfortunately it had developed an infection, and they were not able to release it at that time. This was sent to me by another member, his sister had also gone out to see the eagle. The eagle had bumble foot, a condition raptors get only in captivity. It is an infection caused by an improper perch; raptors in captivity should be examined for it regularly. This eagle was supposedly given a full exam two weeks ago, but any competent raptor handler would have recognized a case of bumble foot. The organization which was managing this release is one of the largest and most respected eagle rescue orgs in the country, but they really dropped the ball on this one! To not know the bird was ill until the last moment means that it was not being properly monitored. So hopefully the eagle will heal properly and we will get out there again to see it. I did get some shots of some Seagulls, before I drove back home. lol Have a great day!

I love the rainwater on this beautifully coloured flower. Michaels poem is beautiful. Hope you enjoy the concert. Somehow seagulls don't have the same impact :o) just jesting!!!!

"We had to burn down the village in order to save it" still fits the DOA and state conservation authorities who will soon be advocating controlled burns in the Amazon Rain forest to bring out the new growth. Bumblefoot, indeed!!
