Description

Ok, for those of you who know me, you know I also do photography as well as Digital renders and am working on a photo series I call " Old Florida " this is sneak peek # 2. I will be working on this series all summer and possibly longer. I hope you enjoy. This photo as you can see is an old Cracker Generl Store from the 1800's and was moved here to become part of the Cracker Country display. Most of my future pictures are and will be as they lay in their original locations.

Now THIS store begs me to come in!! I LOVE old country stores. When I was a little girl in the 60's, in Jackson, New Hampshire there was a place called The Wildcat Country Store...it was built in the 1800's. It was such a fun place to go...wavy old wooden floor, pickel barrel (my fav!)penny candy counter where the candy TRULY was a penny and you picked out what you wanted and they handed it to you in a brown paper bag with red and green stripes. Unfortunately, 'progress' took hold and the store was torn down and a cafe erected in it's place. This store in Florida looks like it would be similar....

Only thing missing is a mangy old yellow mutt sunning himself on the front porch. Talk about a down home place.

I love old general stores, they are as much fun as old hardware stores. You never know just what you will find there. Excellent capture!
