Description

AlooooooHa~ Halemaumau crater in Hawaii Volcano's National Park has been stirring to life in the last few months. I'm hoping for a nice eruption to happen soon...should be a nice show! Taken right at sunrise from the observatory. When the wind blows in this direction it blows the smoke away from where I live...when it shifts direction breathing can be difficult many miles from this site. Aloha to all~

A stunner! I remember hiking to the rim. The sulfur smell is quite strong. Say hello to Halemaumau for me. :) (I hope the wind blows away from your home more than not!)

I've been keeping an eye on this baby every night and at times, its just about to happen. The pit keeps on getting bigger...a pit in a pit in a pit. Its trying to cough up something. Spectacular shot my friend. Aloha

It's so cool to know exactly where this is. I hiked that whole trail back in May when I was there. It was smoking about the same way then, one of these days I hope to see it in its full glory--great shot!!
