Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Excellent rustic capture!

A solid step and foundation for sure. The vine vegetation is starting to invade, trying to claim it. Buy it before they move in! Nice capture. Aloha

Sterling POV and color hues in this photo of your wished-for abode, Maz! Hey, if nothing else the wonderful wood textures would make this a dream house. You could spend tons of time just doing macros.

I wanna go back to Tybee myself. I'll bet you can get some sun as early as march there...spring flowers will begin poppoing up all over there in just a couple of weeks...if they haven't started already:)

There are houses all over the South like this and they're all appealing! What I really like about this image is the fact that it reminds me of my paternal grandparents' home. It was raised above ground level as well and a seriously pregnant mama-cat wandered under the stairs to give birth to the loudest kittens on earth! They all survived for the most part and became those kinds of semi-feral hen-house raiders that seem to populate rustic areas. Anyway...that has nothing to do with this image, but I think the thought was triggered by the fact that you can see UNDER your dream house. That there's cat territory! A good thing too, because it keeps the mice away. I really like the mood of this and those colors are rich and wonderfully succulent. Hmmm...it must be late, I'm using words like "succulent" in relation to colors. I like this a lot, and as always, it's great work!

As they would say in the Real Estate business: 'a renovators dream'... But why change something, when this looks so natural, maybe just the flywire screen door ? a very 'warm' feel to the wood, nice capture. BB

Oh wow! This has a nice rustic look to it. It's a fixer-upper, but in a good way. I wonder who used to live in it and if anybody really still owns the property. I can tell it's in the South, too. There are so many houses like that scattered all around and I always used to wonder where the families went when they moved out.

I love how the vine has grown inside the screen door, almost as if its protecting the door from entry. And the wood is so beautiful! Wonderful image Marilyn!

Great image. I love the strong colour and the way the textures jump out.
